Footnote on Huxley

Born in 1894 Huxley came from an academic family with his mother being the founder of Priors Field school, a now highly selective all girls boarding school in southern England. And his father being an established writer and school master. When studying Huxley's life as a writer and academic his achievements are not surprising due to his fine intellectual pedigree. In addition to his mother and father being well educated scientists and writers his grand father was a renowned zoologist who earned the nickname "Darwin's Bulldog" for his stanch defense of the theory of evolution.
