Abstract

Abstract: Crossing your eyes will make them stay that way. as our mothers have all told us making faces and crossing our eyes will make them freeze in that position. As it turns out they were correct. One hundred fifty test subjects ages five to twelve were chosen for this experiment. fifty were instructed to cross their eyes for as long as possible without rest (group A), the next fifty (control group B) were instructed to proceed through out the day normally, the remaining fifty were instructed to cross their eyes for as long as possible with out rest but with the added stimulus of being scolded by their mothers through out the experiment (group C). This was to see if it was a reaction to the punishment or to simply having your eyes crossed for so long.
CONCLUSION: Before the test all the children had normal eyes, after the test the children from group A had developed significant eye crossing the children from group B the control group had none, as for the children from group C twenty had developed significant eye crossing five began to cry and needed to be removed and the remaining twenty five listened to their mothers and stopped. from these findings we can conclude that crossing your eyes for extended periods of time will in fact cause them to stay that way
